HELP! Can I do this? I want to do it right!

Glass will absorb most of the UVB light. Getting the basking temp. dialed in through glass may be tricky as well. Depending on what you use for the front of the viv. you might be able to mount the lights inside with adhesive hooks and snake the cords through.

    Night Time temp. question.

Thanks for the thoughts Brandon. i don't think it's contradictory when considering the relationship between temperatures, food supply, brumation, and multi generation captive breeding when comparing differences between wild and captive dragons. I'm saying that unlimited food supply might...

    Night Time temp. question.

Raising healthy beardies w/ no UV light & no basking light??

Good topic Zax- Absence of UVB could potentially be compensated for with diet, although food high in vitamin D are not typically fed to beardies (salmon, sardines, cow milk, eggs, etc...). I have read claims of multiple generations of healthy skinks raised without UVB raised on these foods...

    Temp Control

i just set up my first viv and struggled with the same issue. Temps fluctuate widely in my house this time of year. I ended up hooking a ceramic heat emitter to a thermostat - the zoo med repti-temp 500R and keeping that on the cool side. Hooked the thermostat to a timer and it turns on off...

Greetings Folks- I plan to be a first time beardie owner in about a week and could use some advice on the viv. I am nearly done building a 4x2x2 melamine viv with hinging front and top. I have ordered two Zoo Med dimmable lamp fixtures for basking light and heat emitter. I plan on getting...
