EGG Laying substrate sterilization please read...

I would recommend it for all substrates. There is just no way to be sure, unless you proactively ensure it is safe. And don't worry, the temps will never be enough to melt the sand into glass. In case you were worrying about that aspect.

Okay, I've decided to try and breed roaches... AHHH~!

If you want to start feeding off of it right now, I would get no less than 1000 mixed nypmhs with at least 100 being breeding adult pairs. This will ensure you hatching new nymphs everyday and should allow you no problem with feeding as much as necessary. Most dubia dealers only sell breeding...

    Heating Dubias

How many dragons do you have? Or how big do you need your colony? If it does not need to be big, I have used a simple 5gal bucket with a ZooMed large heat pad, aluminum taped to the side. This always maintains a 80-95F temp and my liquid crystals inside provide 50% humidity. Since this mat...

    Giving breeding advice

Just thought I'd add, even 40 years of breeding experience isn't bulletproof. I can't find two breeders that do things the same on every level. The ones who have done it for 2 years may do better about specifics than the old timer 30 years into his life's work. In 30 years, he may have learned...

    dusting killing the crickets?

Your supplements are, most likely, not causing your crickets to die. You say they come in boxes of 20 right? Is there anything for them to climb on or hide in? Are you providing a meal source ("gut-load", Flukker's, etc.) Are you providing a moisture source (water crystals, Flukker's Cricket...

    WORMS - PANACUR... HOW OFTEN?

I 100% agree with Tracie and Lance. We only use Panacur as a preventative de-wormer twice annually. We are also sure to start administering acidophilus after such treatments. The acidophilus will help restore the beneficial populations to your dragon's digestive tract.

    Giving Acidophilis

You should be fine using the regular acidophilus for human consumption. I consulted with two veterinarians before administering it to my dragons. They get it every few days and show great improvement. The acidophilus has helped me nurse more than a few rescued beardies back to good health. I...

    New to Dubias

The fresh babies are about the size of a pin head cricket (2-3mm). Give or take. The dubias will should reach full maturity and size in about, 4-6 months. This obviously being dependent on how much and of what kind of food you supply. And also, the temperature and humidity of the enclosure. I...

    Giving breeding advice

WHOA! I am not trying to argue or upset you. My post was towards everyone. Just ignore what you don't like, the same way you do everyday in the normal world. I don't mean to insinuate that you were rude or arrogant, I'm just saying no one needs to be that way. Just be polite and state your...

    Giving breeding advice

Just live and let live people. Read my sig... just state it is your opinion and leave it there. No one in this world cares more about what is said than what affirms their opinion. People have an innate need to be better than everyone else so they BASH others to prove it. I promise I am smarter...

    How many dubia feeders...?

My dragons: Hatchlings (<7") eat about 15-25 (<1/4") nymphs twice a day. Juveniles (8-12") eat around 25 (<1/2") nymphs twice a day. Sub-Adults (12-18") eat 10 (1") nymphs twice a day. Adults (>18") eat 3-5 (2") adult males a day. They also recieve supers and salad everyday, so they could eat a...

    Superworm question

Superworms won't pupate in a colony (usually). So you have to remove several worms and "stress" them to get them to pupate. Also, the refrigerator will kill supers. Although, someone here told me their supers came back to life after being in the frig. So chances are, you have regular mealworms.

2 baby dragons, and not everything sorted!

Use what you like. They created problems for me. I'm glad they didn't for you. Good luck to your lizards.

2 baby dragons, and not everything sorted!

If you don't believe eXoterra said this, check out their newest lighting information guide and catalog. Other than that, the ZooMed, Zilla, and eXoterra 10.0 UVB bulbs have caused UV blindness and U.R.I. (upper respiratory infection) in several of my dragons. Kept at a height of 18" directly...

Help Please ! What is the RIGHT basking temperature?!

I personally run, 115F in direct basking spot (checked with digital thermometer/hygrometer). While maintaining an ambient air temperature of 90-95F in the same general locale. "Cool" side of their enclosures runs 80-85F ambient. Nighttime temperature is at 75F.
