7 yr old Ball Python strange habits

My last question is, at what age (and I know that this if further down the road) do I start feeding her less? like once every other week or something? Or do I just feed her once a week, a medium or larger rat, for the rest of her life? Well considering that they can live up to 30 years a...

7 yr old Ball Python strange habits

www.micedirect.com At Petsmart you can get a copy of the October 2011 Issue of Reptiles Magazine (maybe not right away I'm a subscriber) it has a fairly large column about feeding rodents to your reptiles. I just got mine the other day in the mail and read the article tonight. It helped me...

Are there any phone numbers I can call?

About mistreatment of reptiles in pet store's? I know there are plenty of numbers for dogs/cats/and other "normal" cute stuff. Don't get me wrong I find reptiles very cute but most people don't. I was at a Pet King in Sunbury, PA. At first I was amazed they had a good stock of items and a...

    need help with lighting!

I have 6 Beardies. :D I'm using 40gal breeders or larger except for one that is still a baby in a 20gal long for right now. I'm using all tile and every beardie has the option of basking on a rock or other platform with in their cages. Their ages range from 6 months to 7 years.

    What kind of tile?

Head to a Home Depot, Lowes, or another fix your home store. Find your way to the tile section and choose what you like. I would stay away from glazed/smooth tile. Otherwise they sell all kinds from slate tile to kitchen floor tile. I choose a rather rough kitchen/foyer tile to help with the...

    need help with lighting!

If he's constantly basking it would be best for you to keep your UVB closer to the basking area. Although replacing the coil bulb (which can cause eye sight problems in beardies) is recommended as soon as you can afford to do so.

    head-bobbing

If your trying to mate them your best bet is to leave her in with him for about 1 week, then remove her for a week, back together for a week, and separate for good. With her being in there with him it may be stressing him out causing the black beard all the time and him not to eat. After that...

    Chow recipe.

Thanks I'll add some of this to a list for the next time I'm out getting supplies. I'm currently using a high protein dog food, oats, and whatever I happen to have left in cereal boxes at the end of the week (cereals being Fruity Pebbles, Cheerios, Frosted Mini Wheats and so on). Usually 4...

    First time owner with questions

First. This site will have a great list of nutritional information for your beardie and other information as well. http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.com/Nutrition.html Second. A mercury vapor bulb (powersun 5.0 I think it's called) may help with the heat or a higher wattage since the...
