For parasites I would probably stick to bleach, just in a higher concentration. Always make sure it has time to dry and air out, possibly a 80/20 or a 90/10 mix of water/bleach, then a full rinse out with water. Once you are parasite clear, steam cleaning is then an option for on going...

My understanding is they actually NEED a temp drop at night when they sleep, and anything above 65f over night is good for them. It allows their metabolism to slow down over night and their body to rest.
