    substrate questions!!

X2...neither of those. I have slate tile and I love it! Easy clean up, nails are filed, holds the warmth...it's great!

Has anyone NEVER been bit by their beardie?

I have never been bitten and neither have the countless children who have pet and loved on sweet Fafnir! Beardies are naturally docile. Most of them will never bite. Most. ;)

    baby something lol

Taking a turtle from the wild is not a good idea. Many cannot adjust and die from stress. Not to mention, you are messing with the ecosystem! Put it right back where you found it and buy him a captive bred turtle from a breeder or from a rescue. You will be better off and so will the turtle!

Fafnir's being a giant toot and won't eat his greens!

Still not eating greens and veggies and I haven't given him any insects since I posted last. He has lost 7g. Time to stop? How much is too much? Blerg. This is stressful.

    Beardie Salad Dressing??

I considered it for my beardie who is on a veggie strike, but it is loaded with so much junk I just couldn't do it.

How do get adults to eat their greens?

I'm going to try waiting him out. I weighed him yesterday and he's gained 2 grams, so I decided I would just monitor his weight and see how it goes. He's on day 2 and didn't eat a bite. I decided against that weird salad dressing stuff because a) it contains some very unnatural things, more so...

    Mango?

Hey! Great news! Maybe mango just doesn't agree with him. ;)

Fafnir's being a giant toot and won't eat his greens!

Well, I tried mango, and other fruits by itself, to no avail. I did see him eat a tiny bit of butternut squash the other day. The dude is just on strike. I posted this on another thread, but I think I'm going to try this stuff at petco called "salad dressing" for beardies. I would not normally...

    Mango?

I would do as the vet said, decrease frequency. The sugars in fruit, in general, mess with their gut flora and can cause some issues there. The other thing you might double check is the temps. Many times undigested food=temps not hot enough. My preference is to only offer fruit once a week...

How do get adults to eat their greens?

My beardie DID eat greens before. Just recently has he gone off of the greens. I don't think I could let him go two weeks without eating. He's a healthy guy, 635g at last weigh in, but I would feel really anxious about him going 2 weeks without food. Anyone else have opinions about this?

How do get adults to eat their greens?

I am seeing SO many threads on this, mine included! My beardie is doing the same. We offer, he shows no interest. Maybe this is sort of common? I mean I scroll through the feeding section of this forum and literally every other one is about this same topic. I have tried a LOT of things. The...

Fafnir's being a giant toot and won't eat his greens!

I've tried fruit on the other greens. I haven't tried just fruit on it's own though. Yeah, I've tried watermelon, raspberries, pear and apple slivers, plum...those aren't working. I'll try some mango! I've had that food list printed out and on my fridge since day 1! :)

Fafnir's being a giant toot and won't eat his greens!

Sorry, phone went funny... He's pooping regularly and the poops are normal. Temps are steady as ever. Just got a new reptisun 10.0 in April. Like I said, still active, basking like normal, sleeping like a log. Any suggestions are welcome! This boy is an enigma, wrapped in a puzzle. Thanks in...

Fafnir's being a giant toot and won't eat his greens!

We have had Faf for about 9 months. We suspect he is 2-3 yrs old, but we don't know for sure. He used to eat LOADS of veggies- mustard greens, squash of all kinds, peppers, the occasional raspberry or other fruit slivered in there. Over the winter, he did a semi-brumation thing---his appetite...
