don't have to hand feed just get a rubbermaid container and feed him in there so you don't have to worry about any crickets being left in the enclosure. Works out very well I have been doing it for a few weeks now and don't know why i didn't do it from the start. If you hand feed to much that is...

My Al is nine inches and he eats easly 100 a day and his salad with out fail.

just make sure you are ready. In the long run you will need around a 4ft long cage it is a lot of space to breed crickets and keep beardies. I have half of my bedroom dedicated to the cause and I don't breed crickets Just order 1000 at a time. I must agree mom and dad need to be 100% on board...

From what I understand the beardies have a third eye on top of there head that senses light and the red light will disturb there sleep which is why you would typically use a C.H.E since it emitts no light.
