    Handling beardies

Thanks! Made it a little easier to not get frustrated to think of it that way. Reminded me of my rats, when they were young. Always exploring!

    Handling beardies

How old is she? A lot of babies are squirmy. When I got Wave, she was much more interested in exploring than sticking with me. I used to take her into the bathroom - beardie-proof - for playtime. Now, four months later, she's chilled out a lot - a nap on my shoulder is her preferred way...

    Feeding Pinkies

Wish Wave liked silkworms... Another reason egg is the treat of choice around here.

    POST YOUR GROWTH CHARTS HERE!

I've kept up month by month - but of course can't find the notebook where I write them down now. Too much crap on my desk. I need to go over to a computer like the rest of the world... But at last weigh-in (and length-in), Wave was 17 inches and 356 grams. She was 6 months old as of 7/24...

    Wave's Photo Thread - new pics 8/3

Wooooooo, at six months, 17 inches and 356 grams! And now you may admire her lovely colors. (And what you can't see is that when I was taking these, my hand was ready to catch her if she fell, just below the countertop. Just so no one accuses me of risking a fall... You...

Temps a bit low - to feed or not to feed?

Thanks! (And I'm sure she's even more appreciative. ;) ) I'll have the new bulb by the end of the morning.

Temps a bit low - to feed or not to feed?

(Though considering the source of the problem, I think she could stand to miss a few meals... ;) ) I've had to rearrange Wave's viv a bit - she had gotten too heavy for her branch the way it was, and managed to topple it. Not wanting her to hurt herself if it fell with her on it (she was...

Verify that my female is a yellow sunburst please

She's similar in coloring to my Wave, who's a sunburst. But I only know that she's one per her breeder; I don't really know much about identifying the various morphs and colorations.

How do you feed your dragon? HAnd or Bowl

Tea light (candle) holder for greens, child's bowl for worms. The tea light holder is heavy enough it doesn't tip; I got tired of cleaning up scattered green stuff. Wave enjoys chasing the occasional superworm escapee, and the reptiworms stay put in the bowl. Both holder and bowl go on the cool...

~ Riding the Waves with Wave ~ TWO MONTHS, 6/5/11

Waverly's a lovely name - maybe that will be her full name. Much more feminine. :D Wave is doing spectacularly, though I think we may be hitting the beginnings of puberty. She's started giving me the occasional hiss when I do something that randomly irritates her, like giving her a bath at the...

~ Riding the Waves with Wave ~ TWO MONTHS, 6/5/11

Little time for updates, but thought I would give some quick six-month stats: Wave's 17 inches and 356 grams! Fat creature.

Informal Reptiworm poll. If you use them or have.

I got a mini fridge on sale at Target. More expensive than a cooler, but I figured we could use it for more than a cooler if at some point I no longer need it for the worms.

What do you do with your beardie when you travel?

I've fortunately got an animal-loving friend who takes wonderful care of Wave when we're away. It's worked out great for all concerned both times we've done it, and I can pay in ice cream.

    Weird incident with reptiworms/container
