sorry no brain here 1/2 lb chow to what.

Are you trying to make up less than a full recipe? The bags are usually sold in 1/2 pound units - check the original order. Measure out the whole bag in a measuring cup and then divide into whatever percentages you want. I usually measure out half the recipe at a time this way, changing the...

sorry no brain here 1/2 lb chow to what.

You're not the only one who's gotten mystery chow. Check the website where you bought the chow. Sometimes instructions are buried in the FAQ section. Different recipes need different cooking, so stick with instructions where you purchased the chow. If you can't find instructions...

    anoles

Same things, except I also order a vial of bluebottle pupae to hatch into flies. I stick the adults in the fridge to slow them down come feeding time. The anoles go nuts for them! The flies are actually kinda pretty, but they make the most evil buzzing sounds when they get disturbed.

    anoles

I saw a hatchling outside two days ago - it could have perched on the tip of my thumb! We overwinter anoles inside when we find them in weird places. They ride inside on plants/tools/etc. and we find them all pathetic and thirsty. I keep a bunch of 10 gallon tanks ready to set up for anole...

    Lobster Roaches?

Other surfaces allow these little monsters to climb even FASTER than on glass. Unless your beardie is a lightning-fast hunter, you'll have roaches all over your house in a matter of seconds. Granted, they'll probably die. Probably. I had a colony of lobsters for a while. They breed like...

    Make greens fresh

I've passed up a lot of collard bundles because the leaves are so limp. But tonight, I had no choice but to get some wilted collards. I re-cut the dried stem ends (leaves were off the main stem) and stuck them in water with a bag over the top to keep moisture in. In about two hours, the...

Silkworms and Hornworms - do I need to feed them?

The silkworms and hornworms definitely need to eat to live. They'll probably last a few days without food before they get all soft and won't move, meaning their fat reserves are gone. They're meant to be eating-machines to complete their short life cycle. Feed them off first while they're...

    Breeding hornworms.

Hope your box is really big. The moths like to fly, and they need space.

Ummm... trying not to... :laughhard: :laughhard: :laughhard: The worms on death row "requesting" their last meal from a soft-hearted keeper...

[Question] Have or do you know how to hand feed your moth?

No need to boil since it's not concentrated enough to be a syrup. Just stir the sugar in. (those last little crystals may be stubborn!)

    Hornworm and Silkworm Crisis

It's a timeclock thing. Your guys were old enough to pupate, so they tried. I'm curious, though. Are you sure the worms actually died? Hornworms do turn that iccky color right before they pupate. They'll stop moving and look all shriveled for a few days before they molt to a pupa.
