hi all, i think its brumation, shes havnt waken up like a few weeks now (she did this nearly same time last year when we got a cold snap here) but during summer she was like this as well so not sure..... btw its 2.5 years old as noted in the thread title im measuring the temps with a temp gun...

how is sand easier to clean? i had sand for a week now and its a nightmare trying to 'find' the poop in the sand, for some reason wen my beardie poops it will run around after covering/mushing up the poo in the sand im gonna get rid of it this weekend, back to newspaper......

hmmmm, i prob prob in some sand so she could dig as well i try 'rearrange' the furniture every few months but it doesnt seem to be doing anythng lol

what do you guys do to stop your beardie getting bored? i feel bad when they are just sitting there on their rock staring at the blank walls for half the day btw anyone put crixs in their tanks so they could 'hunt' a bit? (used to do that but stopped)

my bearded dragon been in brumation for the last 4months and 2 days ago i thought it wanted to get up(eyes opening head up) so i turned on all the lights/heat. first few minutes it got up, sunabaked for a few hours then at the end of the day it back to sleep under the newspaper. now its been 2...

regarding using sand, anyone think its a good idea to put water crystal in with the sand so when it poops, it will absorb most of the moisture? (ONLY IF YOUR BEARDED DRAGON DOESN'T EAT SAND) im thinking of using sand in my enclosure so it does't seem so bored doing nothing all day.

doubt she will eat it, im planning to have a tiled area and sand area i had her on sand when she was younger (didn't know it was bad) and she never ate any.

im planning to use sand in my enclosure (please no sand debates lol) and i was thinking off adding water crystals in with the sand so if she poops, the crystal will absorb most of the water good idea?

i think its 'normal' for them to do it but if u keep them at the correct temperature they wont have to (im still learning so i might be wrong) if i knew she was about to go into brumation i should have turned up the temp but i didn't know then( i rather have her sleep during winter than start...
