Traveling for weekend - What to do for Beardie?

I have an add on question. How do you transport them while driving? We are planning a trip later in the year & are trying to figure out bringing ours or asking a friend to babysit.

    Feeders and Money

I order my crickets from Carolina Crickets and am very happy with them. They arrive within a day or two since they are about 2 hours from me, the crickets are very active and healthy. I have ordered 250, 500 and 1,000 crickets in an order. The 1,000 cricket order is the only one I had a...

    Phoenix Worms

Our beardie is about 10 1/2" and my first order was the medium size.....I'm thinking he/she might be able to handle the large ones too. I actually dig around for the bigger worms in the cup too, thinking the smaller ones will have time to grow. Hope that helps!

I don't think I could really take away the roach effect, no matter what I call them. I'm in southern NC, so when it's warm they just might survive in my house if they get out. My cricket escapees seem to happen when my husband feeds ..... think since he is not squeamish, he is less careful...

    phoenix worms

Thanks. I'm feeding crickets first and then worms. I may continue that or go completely to worms.....I definitely will go all worms once the crickets get closer to the adult size because they creep me out as adults.

    ohmygoodnessIhatebugs...

I just had to read this thread because I totally agree about ALL bugs! When my husband and I first talked about getting a beardie, since my daughter loves lizards we thought this would be a good intro pet, and I found out that we had to feed live insects I almost said no to the beardie. My...

    phoenix worms

I offer greens every day, whether our beardie eats them all or not, and also make them the first thing he gets to eat for the day. I follow up with crickets (and now phoenix worms too :D ) about an hour or two later. I've found that offering mustard greens, endive and turnips greens seems...

How to know they are eating enough

I'm so sorry for your loss.

    phoenix worms

I just ordered my first batch and am waiting to receive them. I was getting tired of chasing crickets around. I'm glad you posted this because I am sure I would have had the same question once I opened them up! Morenar, how big is your beardie? Mine is about 11" so I also ordered the medium...

How to know they are eating enough

I agree about feeding in a separate tank or tub. It eliminates moving all the furniture from the viv, let's you move the dragon when he/she is full and definitely makes keeping track easier. I find it easier to grab the crickets, put them in the bag for dusting with vitamins or calcium and then...

    ordering crickets online

I also use Carolina Crickets, which is located in SC, and am super pleased with my three orders from them. I also live in NC and have received my orders in either one or two days. Great pricing, great shipping costs and super healthy, active crickets. They sell cricket food too, which the...

DIY Custom tank or Store bought Glass Breeder

I appreciate your two cents :D As you mentioned, the DIY structures and the possibility of it being too hard to get clean properly is my biggest concern. Especially since we've only had the beardie for a month, I'm a novice on care and cleaning. I would like a custom tank, he's looking to...

    Cricket Company Review

I'm sorry to hear about the DOA crickets - that's frustrating for sure. I'm in Western NC, have only had our beardie for 1 month, and ordered three times from http://www.carolinacrickets.com , which is in South Carolina. The crickets are healthy and active with minimal loss - in fact I have...

DIY Custom tank or Store bought Glass Breeder

Thanks for the info. Is there a specific ratio that you use? I'd prefer a more natural cleaner rather than bleach.
