    Experienced Snake Owner?

Hi, I am looking for an experienced snake owner in Ottawa to give me some hands-on experience before I get one or two of my own. I would prefer someone with experience with large snakes like boas. Thanks!

    Gut-loading Hornworms

I assume it is overpriced for the content that's all.

    Gut-loading Hornworms

HOLY GOD, I HAVE NEVER SEEN SO MUCH HORNWORM POOP IN MY LIFE!

Week's worth of calcium at once?

Oh no! Thanks for telling me!

    Gut-loading Hornworms

I do not want to buy commercial hornworm feed. It seems a little ridiculous. But I don't have access to mulberrry leaves. I am just gut-loading, not raising, but they poop so much I am wondering how long the food will last in their stomachs. Can I feed cricket feed? Or the greens I feed my beardie?

    Overly stuffed or possible impaction?

You can try giving him some "watery" veggies and fruits. Lettuce has a lot of fibre for example. Blueberries are good for digestion as well.

    Changing Behaviors

The only thing I can think is that she is actually a he and is hitting puberty?

    Berardie size?

Are you worried about how large an enclosure you will need? I heard of a cool solution: Get a large plastic table from walmart or somewhere, turn it over so the legs stick up, and fill the spaces between the legs with wood or plexiglass. MUCH cheaper than a pet store tank!

    Is my beardie growing properly?

I would not feed him live feeders so late in the evening - he should be able to bask for a couple hours after he eats them so they can start to digest. Other than that, how is his appetite, his activity level, his weight change week to week? I would recommend getting a digital scale and weighing...

    Beardie eats Potted Plants...?

Maybe put a netting or something around the plants?

    My bearded dragon won't eat?

It's normal for them not to eat every day at that age. Keep an eye on her weight with a digital scale and the size of her back thighs. Slight, consistent weight loss, especially in the fat reserves such as her back thighs, are a sign of parasites.

    Food and Poop

It seems he is just adjusting. As for the holding the breath, it sounds like he's just puffing up. They do that under their basking light to expand their back and absorb more heat and when they're uncomfortable. Respiratory problems will not manifest like that... Not quite sure how it does; look...

    Digestion issues?

If her heating light isn't up to par that could have an influence on her digestion. Don't know much about mustard!

Stress Markings on Dragon in Store?

Stress marks are not always actually caused by stress. When a beardie basks, his back tends to get dark in order to absorb much heat, and the tummy darkens to match. That might be all. A dark, flared beard is more indicative of being upset.

    Broken nail

Be careful to keep his tank clean and maybe cut down on his outdoor time until it heals.
