Ive got a exo terra with a screen but I use a t5 10.0 about 10 inches from basking spot and my guy seems to be doing fine. The mesh isn't too fine but id say it probably blocks around 40%

Yes! I love looking at my guys colors right after he sheds, hes always so dark while basking but when he roams around and eats hes got orange arms :) Also waking up and seeing him basking makes me happy and seeing his fat little belly :D

Hey just to let you know, I have that ZooMed hood too and unfortunately it comes with a ReptiSun t5 5.0, you'll have to buy a separate 22inch t5 10.0 bulb to replace the one it comes with :)
