She has gone through brumation 2-3 times since I first got her if I take her out she is very active. But if I leave her in her enclosure she will sleep most of the day I had her out for 3-4 hrs today. She sat in the shade and ate some greens then went to the bathroom and ate some bugs. Doubt the heat matters but we have had a heat wave lately and I'm constantly juggling her basking bulb to keep it around 105
If Chubs is over a year old please lower the surface basking temp to 95-100-- she may not like that hot of a temp --- try that and see if it helps- also did we ever go over your UVB info
Yup Arcadia T5s 12% desert 22" tubes this behavior is just recently happened with her sleeping. She had a good 2 months and she went wild then she began to shed and then she slowed a bit. Her fecal sample was good no parasites and her calcium level is good as well this is her shedding. I will try to lower the temp I will need to downgrade bulbs I also thought 100 degrees was fine

. I gave her bugs today and she is active happy running around basking etc etc- your basking bulb is it a clear bright white bulb --- no off white or yellowish or daytime bulbs ? Normally they should bask for 4 hrs but it could be the weather too -- and as far as shedding I dont often hear of them hiding because of the shed --she is basking for a hour you said -- not sure -- watch her weight - if shes losing weight then there is a issue -- getting her out today and she ate and pooped -- she is probably fine -- just keep an eye on her behavior - if she was outside today for 3-4 hrs she probably didnt want to bask anymore --

Been trying to it's hard with her since she never got the taste for them naturally (rescue). She will literally wait all week for bug day and if bug day doesn't come up she will just sleep.Just like some people she wants to eat what she wants + then chill for the rest of the time.
Go easy on the bugs so Chubb doesn't get too chubby !

I agree I also have a plump girl and also take it easy on bugs if you can't keep her under the light you don't want possible impaction setting in either. In captivity we tend to feed them way more than they need to be I went through the same thing with my girl she ate greens really well when she was younger and then when I started bringing down her bug intake I had to go to war with her because she didn't want to eat greens anymore they get very stubborn and yes an uncomfortable shed can always lead to laziness and moodiness and I also want to touch on the temperature thing my girl rarely gets up into the 102 area she's usually down at like 96 to 98 ( she has a few different ledges) she was exhibiting the same behavior you explained on this post she eat a bite or two and then hide out the rest of the day she hardly went under the light and when she did it was just for an hour or two since I have brought the tent down a few degrees she seems much happier under the light. You may just have you a chunky girl on strike intensified with a uncomfortable shed if you had her levels and fecal done I wouldn't trip she looks healthyJust like some people she wants to eat what she wants + then chill for the rest of the time.

We have had a bad heat spell here so I have had days where I had to leave all the enclosures open. I have always taken 100-105 ok but I'll see if I can downgrade lights see how that works. There have been days that I couldn't even turn the lights on honestly (basking). I do know that at night at times I can get it to drop around 75-80 degrees but since it's summer it's 85+. Now should I try to reduce it for both my beardies? One likes it any temp especially after a bath and then the other would rather stand near it not under it
