New Enclosure and Substrate

Hello everyone. I just ordered my Beardie a new Custom Repile Habitats Evo 2.0 4x2x2 PVC. He's currently in a 36x22x22 wood custom build that I did a few years back. I've been using the Jurassic Natural Australian Desert sand as a substrate with no issues over the last 3 years. I am planning on using the substrate again as I still have a few bags but was going to mix it with other substrates. Either top soil, reptisoil or eco earth and excavator clay. Would this help it hold burrows and shape better than just the dry substrate? He likes to dig and it keeps his nails from being insanely sharp

His nails haven't been sharp since I changed from reptile carpet and added the basking rock

How did it go? I was planning to use Jurassic Natural Australian Desert sand and excavator clay, with a little topsoil.

I haven't mixed the excavator clay, but as a stand alone.... i still have nightmares lol
It was hard to keep clean, it got rock hard, then it cracked (which made it even harder to clean) then it broke into little balls that my beardies tried to eat. Maybe it's better in a mix i dunno.
