I was reading the Understanding Reptile Parasites book and the author says to use one of two chemicals to make it easier to see the ova on the slides - merthiolate or Lugol's iodine. Has anyone used these or others? Does it make it much easier to spot the parasite?

Hello!

I have used stain in the past, but not for awhile. It will help in being able to identify & see the organisms better I believe.
That is a great book, too!

Thanks, Tracie. I can't find either of those in stores, so I'll have to order them at some point in the future. I'm having a difficult time seeing past all the bee pollen in Desmond's samples. Hopefully the pollen doesn't stain! :)

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
