Cohabitation between a beardie and a tortoise

Not that I'm planning to do it, but I have heard you can have beardies and other animals in the same tank (albeit a large one). Nothing I read online was very clear. Can you have small (hand sized) tortoise tortoise and a beardie in the same tank. If so what size tank would you need?

No, they have different care and can pass illness between them. Keep all species separate.
