So, I noticed my bearded dragon opening his mouth while basking and I know this is normal but I only see one other symtom that concerns me. I'm noticing his beard moving in and out slowly like at the rate of breathing is this normal too? I've already lost my snake to an upper respritory infection. I'm 14 and can't pay or drive to a vet to fix him let alone pay for a vet. Anything I can do for it if this isnt normal behaviour?

Examine his nostrils, does he have any sign of the skin right around them becoming ready to shed? You can easily see a little circle around the nostril when shedding is coming. When mine is getting close or currently shedding, sometimes his beard comes out slightly with his breathing because the nasal cavities are constricted from the shedding. It always stops once the shed and nose plugs come out.

You are right, he was shedding his nose because I found the plugs later that day. I'm new to having a beardie but they are such amazing creatures. Thank you for this!~=

Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
