First time beardie owner! (And meet Prince!)

Hello, my name is Xen and this is the first time I'm owning a beardie! I've been wanting a beardie for years, and finally got one two days ago! I have two 40 gallon tanks that are connected, a green mat, a hide rock thingy, a branch, uvb heat lamps, and bowls! His previous owner gave him a 3 gallon tank and no heat lamps. So, I'm really hoping I can give him the best life. My room is also pretty big, and he likes being on my desk with me when I draw or play video games. Now, onto some things about Prince since he's the star here!

This is Prince! He is 4 months old, and pretty hyper! His favorite food is kale and mealworms, and loves hanging out on his branch, my tiny hat, and my giant envelope! He is very sweet and also loves crawling on top of your hand.

I originally was going to name him Hurricane Tortilla (Hurritort for short), but it didn't really work. The first day I got him and took him out of the box, he started crawling to my elbow and posed like a king. So therefore, I called him King. However, I realized that since I'm his dad, I would be the king. So, his name is Prince now. It makes sense, he does like being in high places!

Also, he might be a she? But the pet store referred to him as he, so we'll just roll with it.

Welcome to the forum! I'm glad Prince has a good home with you and he is getting some good adventures in around your room. If he likes mealworms he may like black soldier fly larvae too. They are a bit healthier but also soft, squirmy, and small - good for a young dragon.

Hi, Xen! Welcome to! For now I would suggest only using one of the 40 gallon tanks. Since Prince is only 4 months old, he might have trouble hunting his crickets in a large area of space. But I’m glad you like your new beardie Prince!
