Basking Temp too high??

I am a new beardie owner to a 3 month old boy. He has been home in his 10g tank for 4 days and seems happy. I just did a reading with a digital thermometer and I'm nervous. His cool side is 75-80°F but his basking area is 125-130°F. He loves to be under it for almost the whole day and doesn't have his mouth open. He eats normally and seems healthy. Is this too hot? It's a 75watt bulb. Should I buy a lower bulb?? Please let me know!

100 watt bulb for a 10 gallon tank is too hot -- his temps should be 105-110 - the digital thermometer has a probe on it?????????? You need one w/ a probe ---- place on basking spot for 10 minutes then get temp-- your dragon is going to outgrow that tank w/ a month or so --- I would suggest you start looking for a 75-120 gallon tank - that is the recommend size by the time they hit a year old --

Yes, get a new bulb!
In the meantime, try propping it up on some wooden blocks to get it farther away - I have ours up on some just being careful to set it up so the bulb is as far from the wood as it can be.

I used a non-contact digital thermometer that reads surfaces. I realized it's a 75watt bulb, should I go down to a 60? And I'm moving in a month and a half so I'll be getting a larger tank for the new apartment. Thanks you!!
