As y'all may know, heat bulbs can be very expensive if you having to repeatedly replace them. its a 150 watt, All the other outlets//lamps connected to the power strip is just fine. anyone have an idea?
Well that would most likely be why your 150w bulb keeps blowing. If it's a cheaper fixture it might not actually be able to handle the full 150w especially once it heats up.
It's this a 150w reptile bulb or a household bulb? You should be able to get away with a lower wattage bulb. I use only a 50w in my smaller tank and a 75w in my 4x2x2.
Or you can just upgrade your fixture.
I agree. Using a fixture for a basking light needs to be rated over what the number of watts is
actually being used. I always use a light fixture that is rated at least 100-150 watts over what
I actually need, if not more. I just want to be sure that it can handle the stress of the wattage
placed on it without having a fire or burning the bulbs out.
