Hi all! I'm new here and I do not currently own a beardie yet but have seriously been thinking of getting one. I firmly believe in doing your homework before commiting. A little about me..I started off collecting tarantulas.. of which I still own around 50..lol. This past year I purchased some crested geckos after realizing how easy they were to care for..and of course they're cute. I was always interested in beardies but the special lighting and additional heat required made me hesitant. I've recently decided I'd like to take the plunge...but homework first! This all leads to why I came here. First of all I know from other forums I belong to how informative they can be so I'm hoping to find an answer to one question I haven't been able to find the info I need online. It pertains to Great Stuff spray foam. I've seen really cool enclosures using this for multiple reptiles including beardies. I'd love to use it in my beardie enclosure but one concern popped into my head. How does this foam fair under the heat lamps and especially the hottest basking area. Can it possibly melt or become toxic? I know many people use unsanded grout to cover the foam. Does the grout protect it from the high temps. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
