Finally the enclosure is coming together! I'm wanting to switch from the red heat lamps to CHE's but I need some advice. We're looking at each space being about 45-50 gall sized. What wattage/sz CHE would be best? Looking on Petco.com they have a bulb style Zilla and the flat coil ZooMed. (or maybe it was the other way around) at any rate, also I need to know how to install them. Cut holes in the lid and recess? Or hang it inside...(burn risk?)
Thoughts?
Thanks!

I use the flat coil style. I have a 100w and it's on an adjustable stand. It's set about 25'' up from the floor of the tank and keeps the sleeping side of the tank in the low to mid 70s overnight. You may need to play around with the height and temperatures a bit to see what works best with your setup though. You may get different readings than I do.

We went to PetSmart today for the CHEs. They had one 100 watt and one 150 watt so that's what I settled on. I also left with a dog. THAT came out of left field. smh

Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
