im looking to get a camera for field herping. im not like a pro or anything and this is my first year where im planning on getting serious about it. my phone has a bad camera so thats eliminated. ive been looking at the nikon coolpix w300 wich is a waterproof cam that ive borrowed and used before for herp photography and the canon powershot sx410 IS. cameras like dslrs and all those other cameras are out of buget. also anyone know of any good snake hooks im looking at the docsteward copperhead series wich seems pretty popular

Do you have any lenses already? Finding a camera to fit existing lenses can save money. I'd definitely get one that allows for interchangeable lenses so you can match to the type of shooting you're doing. If a DSLR is out of budget, maybe something like an Olympus OM-D E-M10 which is a nice small mirrorless camera. You can get it as a kit with a 14-42mm lens. Then you could get a 100-300mm lens to do some distance shots and switch between them. I like the Panasonic Lumix G II 100-300mm as a good budget friendly option with the Olympus.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
