Yesterday I buried my Beardie, Blade Killer-Kane Bernard Diaz. If you’ve seen my recent other post about his death, then you would know I arrived yesterday, but if you didn’t, what happened was that he choked on his meal, but I couldn’t save him Because it was too late, then I hated to leave on that day (Friday), then I arrived yesterday (Sunday)... and let me say this, it was truly gruesome... coming home and instantly smelling his rotted body, then going to his room seeing he was just were I had set him the day he chocked, and you might be wondering... “Why didn’t I just bury him on Friday???” and to that, I have to admit that I had really hoped he wasn’t dead, and I didn’t have enough time on Friday anyway, so when I came back, it was instantly time to bury him, so as I was saying, I went into my room and saw he was bloated full with liquid emitting from his mouth and in a pool of blood, which was just plain heartbreak for me, as I am a first time beardie owner and my brand new beardie has already past, but Even though I’m getting a new one, im not gonna feed him as many mealworms as I did this guy, and I’m gonna never leave him out of my sight, [I’ll still miss u Bernard )’:] Ok back to the story again... i really didn’t want to just pick him up, so my mom gave me some latex gloves, and I found an old plastic handled-fishing net, and I covered my nose with my hoodie, as the stink was just fuming, and I got some paper towels, picked him out of his enclosure, put him in the net, and took him to the side of my house to bury, were I had dug a small hole with my gloves on, and placed him in. Then I made sure for him to be in a good position, then I laid the ground on him, and just like that, he was gone :(
If you guys wanna comment you can you know...

Hi there,

I went ahead and moved your thread out of the er section just because we like to keep that section for helping the critically sick. I understand the confusion because honestly I wasnt 100% sure which section your thread would fit best in either.

I'm so sorry for your loss. We all know how hard it is unfortunately. I'm sorry you had to go through that on Friday and then through this today.

We are here for you if you want to talk.

Thanks, it’s a lil hard losing him this early on :( and I think it fits better in general as he’s not exactly like in critical condition... he’s dead :/
But it’s fine tho... I just get to look at my mistakes and build on them In a positive way, like being more careful, and noticing minor things, like the fact that the morning he died, he was opening his jaw at me like he wanted to hurt me, which he has NEVER done... he was too sweet for that... and he acted like he was chocking or trying to caugh something up, I should’ve took this as a clear sign somethings not right... even if I wasn’t able to save him next time, the next time I get a beardie, I’m bound to be a little bit more careful around the way they act and there usual and unusual temperament. And thanks for being supportive of the past days, cause really, it’s always hard to deal with a loss, and the more you talk about it, the better you’ll eventually feel.

Hello,

Oh dear, I am so sorry, that is an awful ordeal to have to go through.
Any idea of the cause of his death, or not?
I'm sure that he is resting nicely in your yard. Bless him.

I made a long post about his death, so let me sum it up short, On Friday he was acting strange, opening his mouth at me, acting like he was trying to caugh something up, just stuff he has never done, so at about
4pm, I gave him mealworms and left, I came back in the room(I had accidentally left him out) to say goodbye because I wouldn’t return til Sunday, and I found him on the ground with 5+ mealworms stuck in his mouth, and he was unresponsive and his eyes were shut, but I still had a lick of hope, so i set him on his rock, turned the light on, left, returned, then when I returned I smelled the inside of my house and could smell his rot, wich takes us to my burial post here, so overall, his cause of death was suffocation/impaction from all those mealworms being to much for his lil gut, I would’ve gave him crickets or at least put calcium on my mealworms, but I was out of both, so I have him some leftover mealworms, not knowing of his untimely demise :(

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
