Oh so true. They are fuzz magnets! I don't think it matters how well you sweep and vacuum. It's dragon magic.

I think it's the beard! Always in the beard. And when ours snugs up with our cat Pooka (supervised) she comes away with a belly of shed. Pooka things Odahviing is her slightly underdeveloped, furless kitten. She flops and presents belly, and 'Viing hurries to crawl half onto it. I always keep a very close watch over them, directly beside, but it's so darling.

So Norris likes dust bunnies, too, they do find the least cleaned up placed to park themselves. I find the 1/2 beard shed funny, too. I have a sound asleep dragon, Didi, who is bright orange & is shedding 1/2 his beard & face, yet he's sound asleep for a few days now. He's a semi-brumation dragon, asleep for a few days, up for a few days, alseep for a week, up for 3 weeks. Leo also does that, too, but Rubio will sleep for 3 mo. Lonzo, my almost 10 yr old, isn't allowed to brumate anymore, as he lost the function of his right lung this past spring and Gabriel, my youngest at 2 yrs old, hasn't figured out that brumation exists yet, he slept for only 1 day so far. So it's great that with winter slow down hasn't affected Norris at all. Every beardie is so different!

Yup, I pulled another beard bunny off him tonight.

Hi Sweetie, I'm glad at least some of yours are keeping you company. Norris is approximately a year and a half now. We'll see what happens next year, I guess? Last Feb (I think) he did sleep in a bit later than usual. I'll have to look back at my notes to see when. He just slept late, though...still romped and ate and did everything else just like normal. Perhaps it was just taking the viv longer to warm up and get him more active? He has a CHE for winter time but even out in the house it doesn't get below 72F.

I learned two things tonight. Norris is official 21" long. I haven't measured him for a good long while now. Last was 20" and I figured that was his final length. And secondly, even though I thought I had, I've never before tonight really saw him pancake. Tonight he was like a jumbo skillet sized pancake. POOR BOY. My fault. I've always weighed and measured him about an hour after lights out. I tap his log and just do it all while he is very groggy. Tonight, even though I tapped his log he must have been near comatose because I scared him big time :( Poor baby. He even puffed and colored his beard darker than ever before...so what do I do..take a picture. Okay, then I gave him tons of cuddles (he immediately went back to sleep) Zonked! Pic to come.

Darkest beard to date. He already deflated a bit but he was very puffed up for a while. Despite the fact that he was the grumpiest baby ever,
he is really quite fearless (normally) and laid back.

On the bright side, his lips have almost completely finished shedding.

Oh, sweet boy! And so big!! He looks so kind faced and accepting in that picture to me. It must be because he's so sleepy. I love sleepy lizard faces. His colour is INCREDIBLE. He really is a stunning boy. <3 Poor thing. He knows you didn't mean to startle him, little love. He was just dreaming of waxworms.

I don't know about that. He pooped and before I got up he walked all through it everywhere!! Here is how he greeted me, little pooper. (literally!)

What a mess!!!

He does have a pretty orange beard, doesn't he? When he got mad it went RED.

Oh my lord.... Norris!! This makes me EXTRA thankful for how prissy our girl is. She poops and skitters away from it at the same time. If she's in her Viv she scratches and glass dances to get out first because she doesn't want to do it where she lives. If she does then she gets as far as possible away and just stares at me when I show up, stink-eye or mournfully.... I am SO glad she doesn't skirted thru.

Norris, you little brat, the least you could do is leave your poop along! What a welcome in the am! Boys are so different than girls, like Jane said they tend to run away from their poops. Mine have only done that once & didn't like to be stinky for the time I was away at work, so they all decided pooping in their morning baths was better!

Norris USED to hide from his poop and he normally doesn't get quite this bad...but what a mess! Do you see the tail swipe of poop in the back on the wall!?

Good that it cleans off in the bath & you can always use a soft toothbrush to help out. I have one just for that, just in case! Wonder if he did this for any reason other than it was something to do. Rubio has done this a couple of times, but as I get home at 9:30 at night, he was one stinky dragon for that long, he pooped just after I left at 10:30a, so after that he learned to time him poop for earlier in the am so I was there to clean it up!

Hi Deb. don't tell me beardies aren't smart. They are really smart, they learn from us. Rosie woke up today, crawled out of her hide box just about 8am. She and Goldie had learned to close their mouth when food was coming and they didn't want to eat. Bill had been feeding her some greens and a couple of supers and shortly there after I went into the bedroom and reached into her tank to pet her, well her mouth was open, gaping she was, and as soon as my hand went toward her head (no food in said hand) she shut her mouth like immediately :laughhard: it snapped shut and I had to laugh at her she thought I was going to give her some more food.

They -are- smart, learning creature, for sure. I know 'Viing knows her schedule. She tries to poo on days she knows she's having a bath. When she was younger (she turned the year corner on November) she would potty every day if she could, so we would bathe her daily because she got so used to/preferred going in the water. I think that the warm water and kicking her legs during the swim stimulates her GI tract.

She doesn't go every day now, mostly it's every other/every 3rd. We prefer to bathe her every other, but if she doesn't poo than we try to bath her the next day because the swimming will have moved her along. She knows it's coming, and she goes crazy on the glass when she sees me midmorning, and I come to get her. Sometimes she just can't hold it, but she really holds her schedule.

I think that amazes me the most, her particularness about things. This lizard likes things to be a certain way. She likes her schedule and likes things to happen a way she's used to. Granted, it's odd at times. I mean, she cuddles with one of our cats. Still, it's -her- way, and she likes it that way. She'll fight with me over things she doesn't like or doesn't want at the time. <3

I don't mind giving Norris baths but cleaning poop off the back wall of his viv is a bit more annoying

Norris is back to patch shedding. His belly and leg, this time. He's been shedding a lot lately. Time to weigh again!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
