    scared she may be sick

Well she's had her first meal, 2 ml and first dose of antibiotic, 0.2 ml. She seemed to enjoy the food but I could tell she hated the meds. Poor baby.

    scared she may be sick

Back from the vet. They are going to check for parasites and the vet found a painful lump in Sammy's mid ceolomic cavity. I have to give her baytril every 24 hrs and make a slurry of a/d critical care pet food, given every eight hours.

    scared she may be sick

Nope that wasn't it. Her and her poo are going to the vet tomorrow. I also just found a small, clearish worm in her poo 30 minutes ago. Makes me think she has tapeworms. I just hope she can handle treatment.

    scared she may be sick

I think I know what is wrong! Today I discovered that her heat light isn't that hot anymore and when I put my hand on her back her skin was practically cool. So it could be she is not eating because she's not hot enough. I'm going to get her a new heat light today and see if that helps.

    scared she may be sick

Her urates have been just a little bit of white combined with a small amount of tannish stuff that looks like baby food. So far she hasn't moved under her heat lamp to bask yet today which is something she usually does as soon as the heat light comes on. Maybe it is the beginning of brumation...

    scared she may be sick

Not yet. I was hoping she'd snap out of it but with the weight loss I think waiting is over. It also crossed my mind that given her age she could be dying. I really hope not.

    scared she may be sick

My beardie Sammy is just about 5 years old and she was fine up until about a week ago. Sammy is refusing food, greens and insects but is still drinking water, in fact seems thirsty all the time. At first I thought she might be going into brumation because she did at this time last year but she...

    OMG!! What is this?

Sammy was just laying her third clutch of infertile eggs this year and at one point she stopped and didn't do anything. My husband looked underneath her and noticed an egg that she laid was hanging by something still stuck inside! While he was holding the egg she wiggled her rear and this other...

    Peanut butter?

Would it be safe to give Sammy a little taste? I know she shouldn't have it all the time or probably not even occasionally but would a rare taste do any harm?

lol Why does she do that?

Well she does it every time she is gravid. She just laid 30 infertile eggs a month ago and now she's gravid again. She's been digging and scratching for two days now. Usually when she starts this she lays in 3 or four days but in the mean time she just digs haphazardly in her lay bin. I've read...

lol Why does she do that?

Whenever Sammy is gravid and I put her in the lay bin she'll start digging at the shallow end where there is hardly any sand. haha Then she'll find the deeper sand and start digging there but then she'll go back to the shallow end. This goes on for awhile until she gets situated and starts...

    spring fever?

Wow! Does it happen more often when they get older or something? She was laying two clutches a year, once in the spring then in the fall. She's not eating right now so ya I guess she could be gravid again

    psyco dragon

Maybe something happened that scared him while you were in contact or maybe you had something on your hands he didn't like, idk. The only other advice I can give is don't rush it. Keep trying to touch, handle etc. and even hand feed. Then hopefully he will learn to trust you.

If you are trying to hold him too tightly that could be part of the problem. They seem to prefer resting in your hand rather than being "held"

    spring fever?

Seriously? lol I don't even mate her, why would she become gravid again so fast?

    spring fever?

Is anyone's beardies acting psychotic? lol Sammy sure is, wants to run all over the place. Normally when she behaves like this she's gravid but she just laid eggs like a month ago. I guess it could be spring fever.
