HAH! That's funny. Hubby was petting Odahviing and telling her how orange she was. She gets very bright when she basks, bathes or cuddles. Otherwise the orange has a darker frost over it to give a deeper texture (like most standard beardies seem too). Well, he was commenting to her about how big her head was getting and her magnificent beard and wattle, lol. These conversations are adorable and hilarious. I'd shown him that Z&W pic.
Last Night: He said that she could meet Z&W but only with a chaperone because he sees the eyes that Zak makes. "You're only eight months old Odahviing! And those boys are FIVE!!! Those cads!! Too old for my baby!" I lost it then. Absolutely lost it.

Yes, it's funny, but it seems like Odahviing is his little girl. I have started introducing Rosie as our daughter. I never had human children so we look at her as if she was our daughter.
She is definitely our baby, one of several. He dotes. I think that these little guys are amazing. I had no concept, before her, of how affectionate a reptile actually could be. I knew that beardies were tops on the chart for that in terms of reps, but I didn't know that it rated SO high. She perks and gaps when she sees us coming if she wants out. She scrabbles near the plexiglass doors and has a way that we understand means "want cuddles". It's very uniquely her and different from the cats, but it's undeniably a way of communicating her wants and desire for contact. That amazes me. I'd have thought, before, that she would be happy with limited interaction, that her needs weren't as diverse or complex. Not so! That both boggles and impresses me. It's something I love sharing with people who have never dealt with a reptile before, and it's something that I love reading about on here.
A day in the park....My youngest son (whom Z&W share birthdays with for those that do not know that)
Richard's ag class held a carnival in our small town park yesterday so we thought it would be a great opportunity
to educate and share bearded dragons with our community. Zak-n-Wheezie and Checkers
are the best for doing this. I had a lady come running over pointing her finger, choking to say
something, with a huge smile on her face. She finally got out what she was trying to say.
She was excited to meet Zak-n-Wheezie she seen them on Weird, True, and Freaky and she
was tickled that they use the Fowler City sign and water tower in that episode with the boys.
Made them definite celebrities with Fowler folks. :laughing6:
Speaking of TV I have had contact with Hoff Productions again.
Will clue everyone in when I know more.
Afterwards...home...
fed, bathed, happy, and very little black beard.
Must have enjoyed their day in the park.
I love seeing those happy colors!
These photos made my day brighter. I love the happy expression on the boys' faces. They look like they're grinning... And that stuck out tongue. I love these guys. I always think of them as two. I know they're on one, but they're always two in my mind. So bright! I just want to smooch their muzzles!!
We are happy that we could help brighten your day.
The way I see it you are right they really are two.
I really love that last pic...to bad Franks foot is in it.
Would make a great calendar pic, don't you think?
We tried to move away from the kids for few minutes and they kept trying to turn around and go back to where the kids were. Checkers did this too. When they would get hot they would cruise the the shady spots.
Zak-n-Wheezie at one point were following me like "mommy come back!" :love5:
It's true, beardies can handle any type of person's attention as long as their people are there with them. It's also true that they are two beardies with one body.
