Hey all,
Sorry for the long post.
I have an eight year old female who has numerous health issues at the moment, including a virus and due to undergo surgery for infected eggs. They have ruled out noravirus thankfully.
Noticed today the tip of her tail smells disgusting...
It is honestly like something rotting or open flesh.
She definitely doesn't have tail rot, she is happy for us to touch it and isn't in any discomfort.
After getting her out the bath it seems like her skin has split?
Could this just be a normal shed?
Unsure due to how light the scales are underneath/the scales which have shed are a normal colour and how bad it smells.
We have an appointment at the vet Thursday to get it checked before her surgery next week.
Any advice or thoughts would be great!
Sophie
