A heating pad to get the temps up to around 95degrees would really help the breeding a lot. Do not use a regular light as roaches don't like to come out in the light and thus will be less active overall and breed less. Remove the water dish with the sponge. This is a bacterial breeding ground and could cause a colony wipe fairly easily. If you are feeding fresh veggies and fruits daily like you are now, you don't need any additional moisture source.

If you decide to stop feeding the fresh stuff daily, look into the water crystals as a moisture source. They resist bacterial growth very well and are quite convenient. Also, disturb them as little as possible. Opening the lid to replace food daily is fine, but don't go rummaging through the eggcrates looking for babies every day. That will stress them and slow down breeding a lot.

I got the Dubia's!! Some of the people at work are grossed out or are thinking I am weird... but that is ok

I am not sure how many adults there were I seen at least 1 adult female and male. I want them to get making babies asap so I put them in the tub and left them be. It was the 155 kit from the roach guy. I will probably pick some more up in a couple weeks.. Right now the temp at the bottom is right around 90 to 94 degs so they should be all set.

Also checked to see if Oliver would like them with a small one and he barely let it hit the ground before it was lunch!! :D

Thanks The Roach Guy!!!

Yay! I got my roaches yesterday. It's been hard not to disturb them, because I really want to keep looking at them.

What do you use for a heater? Also, I have them in a Rubbermaid container and currently have no lid on them. How the heck do I cut a hole in the lid for ventilation?!

Brutus was chasing them around to all corners of the tank. He loves them!

I have my Dubia's in a 30 gal. Rubbermaid container. For the lid I used a utility knife and a piece of wood under the lid to cut on.

For a heater I went to Riteaid and got a heat pad for $14.99. Make sure if you get a heating pad it does not have auto shut-off.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
