At what age is it best to transition from cricket feeding three times a day to twice? Pascal is roughly 2 1/2 months old and gets offered crickets in a separate container 3 times a day. At what point does this become overfeeding?
It kind of depends on what he wants. I always just offered 2 bug meals and a salad per day but 3 is OK too, especially for a young dragon. Their appetites tend to fluctuate but drop off quite a bit as they approach full size. If he starts ignoring a third meal I'd stop offering it. At around 12 months (ish) I'd offer 1 meal per day and over the next 6 months gradually move to every other day and then every third day or so for the bugs while offering plenty of salad which by about 18-24 months should be about 80% of the overall diet.
