Found this bearded dragon by my garage. Asked my neighbors if it was theirs and checked the nextdoor app. No one is missing it so I bought a 40 gallon terrarium kit and I am keeping it. Can anyone let me know its gender and how old it might be? It is 15 inches long. I am feeding it mealworms and is actively eating them. Any helpful advice is appreciated. Thank you.
It looks male. But if you can put it flat on a table and gently curl its tail over its head and take a pic. It would be easier to tell. I'll also post a pic of how to candle light to see. Just be careful not to burn it with the light.

Please make sure your using the correct uvb No coils they are inadequate - Long tube fixture-- there are 3 recommended on this forum I can post links for them No colored bulbs please you want a solid clear bright white basking no off white or yellowish bulbs or daytime bulbs- also your gonna want to upgrade the tank to a 120 gallon - please feed fresh salads everyday and a good staple feeder like dubia roaches or crickets silk worms - you need 2 digital probe thermometers that keep surface basking temps 95-100- those temps and the uvb are crucial to the dragons overall health and behavior

Don't be bashful about asking, it's always better to ask than to guess. Care for beardies isn't really hard but it is extremely specific. Karrieree can help you with the lighting if you need, once that is on par everything else kindda falls in place.
