Great that she is active while hunting, & is getting her food. Sometimes with hypocalcemia, the symptoms come & go if they are borderline. If she has not gotten much if any UVB previously, then that is most likely the problem.
The crickets would cause impaction if they were too large. As far as rolling over & tilting her head, crickets would not cause that, no.
So she enjoyed her locusts today?
Just wanted to let you know that she has seemed much better today, which I`m really happy about
Got my fingers crossed that she`s gonna be OK.
She has n`t tilted her head or rolled at all today, and has seemed generally much more alert. Has eaten plenty of crickets too. I`m still waiting for calcium powder to arrive in the post, but expect it tomorrow. And have put the megaray back in the viv after burning it in. Still need to try and find the right balance of temperature though, it was 110f on the basking spot, but creeped up to 90f at the cooler end so will have to try and find a way to lower that a bit.
Not sure what the problem has been with her? But she seems to be getting better which is great. I`ll let you know if anything changes with her.
Thanks so much for your help Tracie, really appreciate you taking your time to help me out.
Well, that is good news she has gotten better. How is her appetite doing? She has had some crickets, that is great.
I hope your calcium powder gets there quickly for you.
The temps sound alot better. Do you have any other heating in there other than the Megaray?
Perhaps she was badly dehydrated but at least she is not tilting her head any longer or rolling. Keep me posted on her. I hope she continues to improve.
