What a cutie....poor Perry ,It really looks like he's impacted. Can you describe exactly the size of the roaches he was eating ? Like half the size of his heaf, or however big they were ? Were any mealworms or anything else fed to him ? For now, get some olive oil, canned pumpkin [ no spice ] and/ or baby food prunes , these act as laxatves. He looks really miserable, so try that [ if you absolutely can't get to a vet ] Then try a supervised warm bath, but be sure to stay with him to make sure he doesn't drown. Handle him very gently in and out of the water, he must be pretty sore. Try those things ASAP, and be sure to keep him warm after the bath, right back in his tank. Hopefully your little guy will get through this.
I'm so worried Im Going to loose him today. Not doing well. Won't even lick the baby food off his nose. I can't watch my baby die, but I can't walk away either.
Ok, so I have him a bath, and yes he pooped. But stilled puffed up. It's like he's taking gulps of air in. Kind of looks like he has the hiccups then he's all puffy.
Give him plenty of olive oil, canned unspiced pumpkin, and/or baby food prunes. He probably has a bunch more poop to go. He might be gulping air because his lungs are compressed. You might want to PM Tracie (Drache613) because of how severely bloated he is. She knows a lot.

Belly rubs I've been doing. If he is impacted would that cause pain at the base of his tail. While rubbing him today, it seemed to be painful. I did manage to get 1ml of baby food mix into him today. Took about an hour, but it's something. My son knows he's sick and we had our first real discussion on the possibilities. I assured him I'm doing everything I possibly can.
Did you try the baby food prunes ? That's something that could help him to move his bowels. That's what's needed, or canned pumpkin, olive oil. He really can't eat anything of substance until that is out of the way, so try those things.....he won't make it if he remains impacted. And warm baths are good, belly rubs are going to be painful and should not be done. I'm sorry that your son has to see his little pet like this, I sure hope Perry will pull through.
I actually got some olive oil into him. I imagine it doesn't have to be much considering his size. Is there a way to upload a video from my iPhone? I actually got a good one I think. More then just him laying there.
I always feed him the small roaches. I'm thinking its a respitory issue now. Because of the way he's breathing. It's like he's sucking in air and inflating. Is that even possible. Cause he's not bloated all the time. Like I said before. Kind of looks like hiccups. I wish I could post a video. Not that it would matter. It sucks, but I have to pay for my own meds before I can even think of taking him to the vet. $60 just to walk in the door, + fecal + x rays + medication. Just can't do it right now.
The way you describe his breathing is probably a resp. infection. He needs antibiotics like Baytril, you can order generic Baytril from beardeddragon.co. Cheryl will tell you how to dose it. Perry really needs some help, I'm pretty sure he has an impaction on top of a R.I., a video would really help, but if he is sick then he needs the baytril. Be sure to keep his temps. around 80 -82 at night as well, it will help his immune system.
Is there anyone in BC that has gone through this and may have the Baytril. I don't think it's impaction, but never know. He was pooping fine before the puffing up. He was actually doing really well. From 2-3 roaches a feeding, to 20-30 a day. Then all of a sudded, not wanting to eat, and puffing up. Now I have to sit and wait for him to open his mouth an I squirt some baby food in. I tried the olive oil and he had a very loose pooh. Which I was expecting. No pooh today yet, but he only had about 1 1/2 ml of baby food mix yesterday. I'm not sure what else I can do. I won't let him starve, but I think we may loose him anyways.
