I'm just paranoid and extra cautious. I'm expecting some dubias any day now, and I bought a clear 18 gallon rubbermaid tub for them. I chose the clear instead of the colored because the sides just felt smoother to me, then I covered the outside with wrapping paper.
Anyway, I wanna go the extra mile!
I had originally planned to smear vaseline all across the top of the inside of the tub, but I've noticed more and more people saying to use clear packing tape. So which is better?
Also, would a heat light possible melt petroleum jelly? I don't want it sliding and smearing all the way down into the buggies living areas... lol.
Eh, I guess I figured it out on my own.
Tried it out and after a couple hours or so with the heat light I had sliiiiding vaseline. >_<
Packing tape, it is!
They do climb the sides. Unless I have Super Spider Dubia. I see the babies climbing all the way up to the packing tape. So just to be safe I would use the tape. Like you said vasoline will just melt and slide....
