Now it seems she is going into brumation which is the worst timing ever! I'm not sure how to check if she is going into brumation. Should I turn the heat and lights off and see what she does?
On top of that there is NO WAY she will take juice. And it is stressing her out going to have to go back to the vet. She's a good girl but wow she is stubborn!!!
Black beard and huffing and puffing now. I can't do this to her everyday.
She definitely is stubborn if she wont take any juice at all now!
I wouldn't turn her lights out or anything right now even if she is trying to brumate, since she isn't doing 100% right now.
When is she going back to the vets?
Today I gave her two baths which she seemed to enjoy. Massages her belly and held her in towel as I stroaked her head. She really liked that. She didn't do anything in the bath and since then she is standing up basking which is a good sign of course.
Tomorrow I will try silk worms and salad and bath and see what happens. Vet will be end of week if no improvement.
She is sooooooooooooo stubborn! Closes her eyes when she doesn't want something. I'm just happy she is standing up on her rock basking.
So tried feeding juice again by opening her mouth and I was gently pulling her beard and nose to open mouth and as my wife put the juice and meds in she didn't even move!!!! Just perfectly took it so well!!! So happy about it.
I read that adult beardies should have 10 dubia A MONTH. Is that right? she does eat salad and as she is just over two years old
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh just now as I type this she started to push out her business but it wouldn't come out. I really want to give her another bath but it is bed time for her.
Wow big progress and so good to see she wants to go to toilet.
That's great that you got the food in her ! Big relief for you. I don't know anyone that says to feed 10 dubias a month, but def. not 10 a day like some owners feed their adults. Maybe you read 10 a week ?
That's promising she is more active & basking right now.
She is very clever as she has figured out the syringe trick hasn't she?! At least she has taken some juice anyway.
She definitely needs more than 10 roaches per month, even being an adult!
Let us know how she is doing.
That does pose a problem, ill & trying to brumate! There isn't anything you can do to completely pull her out of her brumation but you can definitely try to encourage her to bask as much as possible.
That does figure right? Let us know how she is doing.
She seems to be resting a lot and waking up. I've given up trying to make her poop because I don't think there is anything there as she hasn't eaten for a week.
Got some silk worms to see and she looked interested but didn't eat. Try again tomorrow.
Meds and juice in the morning and let her rest and try some salad and silk worm again
