Thermometer/hygrometer placement

Just a quick question

How should I place the thermometer/hygrometer with probes ? Should I let the probes stay at the bottom of the tank or place them at mid level? The cords for the probes are pretty long and right now I have it placed all the way to the top of the tank and the probes hitting the bottom of the tank.

I read on mine that it was to be placed center back wall
