Sound Asleep beardie spassing out and glass sufing

Hi! So it was around 6 in the morning here and my beardie usually sleeps until 7 or 8. Suddenly, he jumps off his log (which he fell asleep on the night before) and starts glass surfing and passing and climbing all over while his beard is dark, dark black. It took a while to calm him down but now he's resting on my lap after I took him out. Is he okay? was this a nightmare or panic attack? pls help!

If he did that from sleep, then it was probably a nightmare. They have dreams and will sometimes react to a bad dream similar to the way we do. Giving them a bit of comfort and helping them realize they are safe usually helps calm them back down. My guy will often go back to sleep after this happens. I'm sure it varies between dragons though.
