Thank you so much for the coupon code & info on the Reptiworms! I bought 100 crickets a few days ago & about half of them died off even with me feeding them & giving them water, plus they smell! so I am happy to hear there is an alternative to using crickets as the staple food,I will still buy crickets sometimes for variety, but after reading about the reptiworms I placed an order for 200 & I am really hoping these will work out for us!
You are welcome any little bit of money helps these days. I have been feeding my 7 mos. old the repti worms. Although, they are quite small and they do not last as long as superworms (because, these are larger). Anyway, they are very healthy for your little one, hope he enjoys them.
Reptiworms are black soldier flyy larvae. They are the same species as phoenix worms and calciworms (if youve ever heard of them) They have almost a perfect calcium/phosphorus ratio, so they dont need to be dusted (although a weekly multivitamin is still a good thing to do). Generally a good staple feeder. They are small though, my baby went through the 200 in no time...i think im moving to silkworms and dubias though...breeding feeders is a lot cheaper than buying them.
we have pheonix worms but I've never actually seen the reptiworms (I live in Canada). Also, dubias are illegal in Canada. Which really sucks! Because by the looks of it on here everyone prefers these dubais over crickets.
Thanks for the heads up- hopefully my jones armadillo likes these- hes picky and currently only eats mealworms and waxworms, these would make me a lot happier with their nutrition values. We'll find out next week when they ship them!
