protruding left eye

Hi

i have a male bearded dragon 3yrs old.

i noticed this last week one of his eyes is protruding and appears a little swollen.
charlie was scratching it today, just the once.

He has a varied diet and eats plenty of veg, herbs and salad.
He appears healthy and is active and eating well.

Is he getting ready to shed his head area ? If so, then what you saw was basically loosening the skin around the eyes for a shed, nothing to worry about.

Hi Janie,

No he is not ready for a shed that i can see.

Charlies eye just looks like it is being pushed out a little.

No discharge, scarring, looks just like his other one, but protruding.

He is 22" long and very healthy, he had a total check up at a vets a couple of mths ago.

Okay, then just use a drop or two of saline solution on that eye, and see if that doesn't help.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of UVB do you have, and how old is it ?

exoterra repti=glo 10.0 25 watt
3/4 mths old when we had a gigger varium made for him.
I will try the sailne solution

Aha ! there is the problem right there. Your glo has been linked to severe conjunctivitis, so just turn it off and get one of these instead :

Just remove the glo, and only use the basking light until you get in the Sun.
