I just noticed a discolored spot on my bearded dragon. I’m thinking it’s a burn. A couple days ago the weather was much warmer then expected and when I got home her basking spot was at 106 . I cooled her tank down to her normal 100. She was not in her basking spot but on the ground on the cool side probably trying to escape the heat. Today I noticed this discolored mark at the base of her tail. Lighter in the middle and darker around . The scales look a little larger . Maybe it could be an injury with bruising. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
That is possible it could be a burn, it is relatively dark. It just cropped up like that?
Can you think of anything she could have fallen off of to injure herself like that?
If you have some raw unpasteurized honey, aloe vera or silver gel/cream, you can
treat that daily to see if that helps with the healing process.

Yes I just noticed it yesterday. She does have a hammock going across her tank that she could of fallen off of , it’s about 4-5” from the bottom of the tank . I have Manuka honey and silver cream. I will apply the silver for the next few days then switch to honey .
Thanks
Hi Sue, that looks like a small patch of unshed skin. A temp. of 106 is not excessive, possibly a bit uncomfortable but not enough heat to burn. She is a stocky girl, watch her portions so she doesn't get too much bigger . She's very beautiful though !
How is that area looking today, any changes?
It is a little strange that it is in the shape of a circle, I agree. Keep us posted
on the area & hopefully it just sheds off!
