Hello. I had posted on here a while ago when I first got my two new girl beardies (which are doing very well btw), but next tuesday we are bringing home a mature german giant male that a breeder friend of ours let us adopt. Dunno what we're going to call him yet, but we're totally stoked. In the meantime, here's some pics of our baby girls.
We have a 40 gallon ready and waiting our german giant. The enclosure shown here is 110 gallons custom. We do use sand as substrate and it's working fine for us, but be aware of the possible dangers of using sand because of impaction. We have never had a problem, but it happens.
Our females are both sandfire red crosses and they are both from the same clutch. One is pushing 10 inches, the other is pushing 10 1/2 inches. Both are about 4 months old. They love their crickets, superworms, dubia roaches, and the occasional katydid. We offer collards and carrots at all times, and recently they have taken a very nice liking to them.
