I owned an albino corn snake for about 2 days, but it died for unknown reasons. I just want to make sure I am doing things right with my new Amelanistic corn snake, Striker. I have him in a 10 gallon. He is small, only about 10 inches I would say. I haven't measured him yet since we've only had him for a few hours. I will move him into a 30gal or bigger once he grows a little. He has a water bowl with inch-deep water on the cool side, a branch in the middle for him to climb on if he wants (he seems to like to hide under it though), and a coconut hide on the warm side in the corner. I am using repti-carpet since I find it easy to clean and easy to maintain. I use a small Exo-Terra under-tank heater. The UTH doesn't get too hot, but I'm worried if he's not getting enough heat. I do not have a thermometer at the moment since it is almost midnight and I can't get one. I'm just afraid I'm doing something wrong, since my old corn snake died out of nowhere after 2 days. The place he was at fed him frozen pinkies every tuesday and friday, and he wasn't fed yet today (friday), so I fed Striker a small pinky mouse, it was no larger than the biggest part of his body, and I thawed it properly. He acts perfectly normal and active. Does anything sound wrong? Or should I try something to make him more content in his enclosure? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
