That's good that your Beardie likes his greens. That's probably better for him than insects. My Beardie definitely likes his bugs more than his greens so I have to make him eat his greens. If it were up to him, he would eat his bugs everyday. Next week I am going to order some Phoenix worms for him. I have never tried them on him before, but I heard they are more nutritious than crickets and other stuff sold in pet stores.
Congrats on your new Beardie!!! Is this your first one?!?!
He absolutely loves his greens and devours them only leaving a couple pieces. He's starting to care less for the crickets. I read multiple times that mealworms are bad for them? is that true? Too fatty or something. Also, Thankyou! He is my very first ^_^
That's great he loves his greens, some beardie owners would kill to have their beardies love veggies lol. Mealworms aren't the best, their exoskeleton consists of indigestible chitin, yes they are fattening and they contain very little nutrients.
They're fine as snacks for the larger beardies like yours, but be careful; my male got hooked on super worms (the larger, softer version of mealworms) when he was given a few and he got fussy to the point he wouldn't touch anything else
well in the future you shouldn't leave any live prey in the tank and you should only feed as much as he's going to eat in 10-15 minutes and then remove any left over
Alright but have any ways to get them out easily? It takes him forever to even eat a cricket. He seems to care for them less and less. He's always just wanting the salad.
