My beardie's scales changing color..

I have only had this new lamp for the last day and a half, the Powersun 100w by Zoo Med, and I have gave her a better diet.

Not only does she seem more active but some of her scales on her shoulder and on her face a bit are turning a lil red. Now, I figured since she is getting more sun the scales would turn red to absorb more of that lovely warm spectrum, or is she getting burnt?

I doubt the latter, but just thought I'd ask.

I was going to get a snapshot, but the camera doesn't do so well that close.

Any thoughts?

Beau Turkey.

PS: She ate more greens than ever before, and had some of the pellet food I had made into a smash with some water. She LOVED her greens and smash. Oh yeh, and tomato! lol

She might be getting a little dehydrated, I'm guessing. It's hard to say without seeing her before and after. Those lights are great but do give quite a bit more heat off. Try spraying her greens with water and giving her a bath or misting more often.

Yeh I had been watering her kale, and been watering her with a syringe. She LOVES that, so I do it twice a day. I mist her, and gave her a warm bath today.

I don't think its dehydration, just her colors coming in?

If so, she's going to be so pretty. She'll have red eye make up on! lol

That could definitely be it, the mvb's are supposed to stimulate the color or something in the skin too. I was thinking it might have looked like when they get a little dried out and the scales lose the soft look. Maybe you're just going to have a hot sexy little mama lizard! I'm so jealous they get to lay in the "sun" all day all sprawled out and comfortable. Amazing how the mercury vapor bulbs boost their appetite and activity levels. I really believe in them, I use them and my babies all eat their vegetables. And to think, the Mega Ray is even stronger than the Power Sun.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
