You are welcome. Let me know how she is doing. Let's give it a couple of weeks to rest from the UVB & then we will re-evaluate her after that time & we can put her back under the UVB.
How is she eating today?
Shes trying to eat I'll put it that way. She tries to go for it but cant see it to grab the food. She licks all around the dish until she grabs one. She is moving very slow around the viv. She doesnt even have the energy to hiss and bite at me. I am really worried. I have only had her for 5 days and it seems like I have taken her from a bad situation and made it worse for her by using that bulb. I tried to give her water and critical care but i cant get her mouth open even when she opens it she slams it shut before I can put anything in. I have her under a house bulb now with no uv what so ever. I really hope she snaps out of it soon. I'm worried about her njot making it. She keeps getting black beard and sticks it out like shes trying to swollow. I have read many posts on here that start like this and then lead to them passing. I will never forgive myself if this happens!!
Hello Christy,
I am sorry that happened. Normally, the Zoomed Powersun is very safe. It was just too close.
I hope that she can pull through this.
I forgot to mention also, that to try to keep her temps under 105, maybe even to around 100 to give her body some rest from too much heat. Get her rehydrated as much as you can right now, & go easy on the protein for a little bit, too.
Let me know how she is doing.
Tracie,
Just wanted to give you an update on Abbey. She is improving so much since I took out the MVB. She is perky and her aggression is starting to fade. Her appetite has come back BIG TIME!! Her eyes are wide open and she is enjoying her new hammock. I have a reptisun 10.0 on order ( I should have used it in the first place!) along with a basking bulb (50 watt). She should be doing wonderfully by the time it comes in and I should be able to set it up for her. Thanks again for your help. I don't know what I'd do without this forum!!
Oh that is really great to hear that Abby is doing so much better now. I am sorry that happened. The Powersun is a safe light. It was just too close to her.
So you have decided to use a Reptisun 10 instead, along with a basking bulb? Well, that is fine. Those are great bulbs, too. Just remember to change it every 6 months to maintain the UVB emissions.
So her eyes are doing much better & are open now also? Wow she is eating that much again too? She is really improving quickly.
I am very happy to hear that.
If you need anything, let me know.
