Mental stimulation…

Hi there 👋 my bearded dragon is getting big for his enclosure (we are upgrading soon, hopefully 🤞) and is starting to seem a bit bored, I’ve given him a clear ball that I can put a cricket in which he’ll chase around for a bit before it gets stuck between his hides.

I want to offer more mental stimulation for him while I’m busy at my summer job, I’m taking him out of his enclosure for around 1 1/2 hours or until he poops to offer some stimulation. I feel like it isn’t enough though.

What do you do to keep your beardie entertained? I’m thinking of hanging a ball from a chain (that won’t melt) on his cool side for him to play with… I can’t really fit anymore furniture in his tank so that will stay the same, I added more fake plants as well.

Any advice is appreciated! Thanks,

Hazel my female two year old beardie
What I do is I take my Hazel on a walk(I know, sounds weird) I just put a harness on mine and hold mine while she looks all around. People look at me weird but it worth it. I also take my Hazel out in the backyard since we have a fence and a lot of places to hide if she wants to hide. Main key is a bigger tank where they can run around

Not weird at all! I used to have a harness but I can’t find it, it was from my previous dragon Pippin (he was a sweetheart 😢) . I think I will make my own out of the extra cloth I have from my previous Sewing project.

Def. a bigger enclosure.

You could do portable set-ups.
Put him in a bigger environment.

1 1/2 hours seems plenty.

Harnesses are nice to have.

Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
