[QUOTE="kingofnobbys, post: 1955554, member: 81934"] 17 DECEMBER , THE SYDNEY NORTHERN BEACHES CLUSTER - UPDATE. This has grown to 17 confirmed cases by 7pm today, looks like the two original cases ( a couple ) were out and about living it up while symptomatic and under orders to self isolation while waiting for confirmation they were positive to covid. Grrrr …. So far it's looking very much like the Adelaide Cluster all over again, hopefully swift incisive action by NSW HEALTH & the Premier will nip this cluster in the bud before it blows up like Victoria's 2nd wave did. Might be all over in a week or two IF WE in NSW ( and in particular in NE Sydney ) are lucky and act quick enough. Doesn't help that we are as off today into the NSW School Summer holidays and other states have been in school holidays for about a week ==> lots of interstater travelling about all over AU and holidaying / visiting family ( now they thought it was safe to do so ( til today )). This increases the risk of this cluster being spread all over the place in very quick order :( . WA has ordered all visitor arriving from NSW ( effective immediately to go into quarantine for 2 weeks or til they are confirmed covid negative ) , if this cluster spreads / grows and the source remains unknown , WA will be closing the border again. SA is following suit as is TAS. Sydney is now a hotspot and QLD will be reimposing restrictions and quarantine on all new visitors from Sydney effective immediately. Any Sydney residents already in WA, SA, Vic, TAS, NT and QLD who arrived interstate after 12 December are ordered to be tested for covid and self isolate for 1 week or tests return negative for covid. NSW HEALTH ( Hazzard MP ) and the CMO have VERY firmly "requested" all residents in the Northern Beaches and any contacts of them to self isolate, remain at, and restrict themselves to household ONLY until Monday 21 December , and to be tested for covid ASAP. Residential Nursing Homes in Sydney are now back under lockdown ( one of the covid cases is an AC worker who worked while infectious …. :( …. not a good situation - people are EXTREMELY ANXIOUS and SCARED about this is likely to mean.
