Hi...I'm going to be starting a roach colony also...the two best suppliers that I've found here are theroachguy.com and bestroach.com. Dubia roaches are very popular among the people here that breed roaches but there are other roaches available to you also. I don't know the exact nutrition values of each roach but I know you can probably do a search on here and find a lot of information. I do know they are a lot more nutritious than crickets...plus they don't smell or make noise!!!

One adult female roach on avg has 20-30 babies a month, depending on species. The popular roaches are, dubia, discoids, lobsters and lateralis. I really hate lobsters because they stink and climb. Lateralis is the size of crickets, are super fast, breed fast, little smell and dont climb or fly. Dubia and discoids are about the same except color's and sizes, they breed sorta slow but once you get a colony going and you dont feed off the females they reproduce fast. If you live in FL the only 2 roaches that are legal and most people will ship are craniifer's and discoid's

I have 9 beardies so the Turks are what worked best for me as I needed a faster producing roach. :D
Sure they gave me the heebie jeebies at first, but they really aren't that bad an once you see how much money roaches will save you you'll be shocked, I was. And my beardies just love them. :D

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
