So could you just totally remove all of your adult males and replace them with males from someone else? Or do you just throw in a few hundred nymphs from another rancher a few times a year?
It's really simple. I usually hold back a percentage of nymphs when I pull them from the breeder bins once a month. So for sake of arguement say I have a rearing bin off 500 nymphs that I'm holding to produce new breeders. I'll start another bin w/ 500 nymphs that I order from another roach wrangler. Than I just make a new breeder bin w/ both lines as they mature.
What I like to do is mix 3 or 4 different lines together once a year. Basically my customers can rest assure that they can buy off any of the other rancher out there down the line and know that they are getting some new blood. It helps my business and promotes my fellow "Roach Ranchers" as you so called them as well. I deal w/ volume though and it's a necessity for me to do it this way.
I have a question the OP probably could benifit from as well. I'm planning on using a 29ish gallon rubbermaid, or similar, container. How many roaches can comfortably be placed in one before needing to start a 2nd?
well, I when ahead and bought my roaches. They should ship today sometime. I can't wait!
Oh and OT, flame is going to the vet tomorrow at 10:30. I just what to make sure that he is doing ok. I really don't think anything is wrong with him, I just want to make sure and put my mind to rest. So here is hopping that he comes back with a clean bill of health.
They are here! Mom is ok with them, she will not come NEAR them yet.  Flame did not know what they where do he did not eat one when I gave him one. The tote is all set up and warm. I have had the heater pad on for 2 days now making sure that my temps would be ok.
I gave them food and the last of my cal water I had left over. SO I hope to see babies here in a few months!
