Yeah.. I got mine for my 15 year old daughter for Christmas.. At least that's what I told everyone.. Then 2 months later, got my own ;o) and then antoher 2 months later a baby... So, I think I'm good
Im 25. Iv always had pets but always been dogs and cats. And iv had pet rats before but id never even considered a beardie until recently. But me and the girlfriend moved in together a couple of months back and we decided that our first pet was going to be a bearded dragon after we'd seen one in petshop and i'm so glad that we did. I still want a dog too though, i miss not having one around.
Wow I think I'm the youngest one here. :3 I'm 14. Got my first beardie on 8/9/10(date is easy to remember. XD) and my second 1/1/11! I do all the work for them except pay for some of the the lights and superworms which I'm breeding. And Scout is nearly a year old! His birthday is June 2nd.
So I've got two beardies.
However I've had pets since.....my 6th or 8th birthday I think... I wanted another fish after mine had died, but mom said NO MORE FISHIES. And said how she rather get me a hamster. ;P Bad move.(Actually good news!) I got my first hamster for my b-day.. he got sick so I took him back and got a new one which I had for awhile. I was then interested in lizards and studying like crazy about beardies, crested geckos and leopard geckos, mom said I could never have a lizard in this house.(we have four now) Well, I ended up getting a crested gecko when i was nine. Still have him and he is sitting right by me at my desk! He'll be 5 this year I think. Total pets though I've had and cared for myself(in order of when I got them) ( X=deceased):
FishFace(Goldfish )X
Spice(hamster, only owned for about a week)X
Domino(Hamster)X
Boga(Crested gecko)
Jacque and Kateo(Gerbils)X
Cookie(Dwarf Hamster)X
Suki and Josi(Rats)
Scout(Bearded dragon)
Riza(Bearded dragon)
---------------------------Those were/are all mine.
Other pets are Alaska(Dog), Rocket, Boots and Slinky(cats), Q and ZZ(Gerbils), and Kes(Baby crested gecko)
We are the animal family here! At some point I want a bird of some sort, though.
That's awesome that you take care of them all yourself! I'm hoping my friends daughter will take care of lil guy as good as you take care of yours.. She's been wanting a beardie for awhile now. I think she will be good with him, but I'm here to help her.
I'm 19. My beardie is four, but he didnt come into my life until last year. He is technically my boyfriends beardie, but not anymore lol. I've spoiled him beyond belief and now he only glass dances for his mommy and only wants to cuddle on his mommys pillow lol. its pretty sad to say that if Aaron didnt have Guido when i met him, i would never have developed an interest in beardies at all. But now i couldn't imagine wy life with out my baby boy. i know now that i will definately have them for the rest of my life. :love5:
I'm 17 and got my first two beardies in april. I've also liked reptiles for a long one before that like 100 people have said before me lol. I originally saved money to go skydiving but the age around here was changed to 18 so I went out and spent the money on my dragons. 8)
I am 45....I got Malibu fro my sons 12th Bday....hes now 16...I am her main care taker...I love her ...she loves me..I can tell by the way she peeks out her fleece admireing me before bed...of course i tell her shes the most beautiful beardie....what a good girl malibu is as i pat her head. Then she wiggles her butt and will move under my chin.sappy!
I got into BDs simply from research. I wanted to own a reptile, and I read about how BDs are docile and a great starter pet. I especially liked how they could be tamed, unlike many other similar species. I've had mine for almost a year now.
I'm old too 42 going on 43 in a week, but I have empty nest syndrome, so why not fill it with baby beardies?? My daughter has always had beardies since she was 7 because she was allergic to anything with fur. After the first one passed away she found an ad in the local paper and that's when we met Jessica at Yellow Room Reptiles. Seven years later that one passed away, so we looked up Jessica again and got Eymu. Since my daughter was getting one, I had done a bunch of research and insisted on caring for the new one better, so I decided to get one for myself. There were so many colors I could not stop at one, I wanted orange, white, yellow, red.... then I ended up trading Zero for Prysm with Jessica again, and we have not been separated since. She talked me into breeding and doing the shows together, an now we have formed an official business partnership. We are now on a mission to make the best products for beardies from what we've learned over the years, and we could not do this without everyones support. We have a lot of cool ideas in store for the future and everyone here will be the first to know and try them.
